81% of Foundations Report Some Degree of AI Usage Within Their Organization
Since 2022, a lot has changed in philanthropy technology. Here are some updates since the 2022 report.
- Back to the Office: In 2022, responders said that they were moving remote next year is down from 77% to 69% revealing a trend that many are going back to traditional office environments
- Less Money is Making it to Tech Investment: In 2022, 86% respondents said that technology represented between 1% and 10% of their overall budget. The 2024 survey that number rose to 91% showing a reduction of overall spend when averaged as percentage of budget.
- Fluxx Continues to Rank #1 for Grantmaking Tech: Since 2020 Flux has ranked as the leader in the grantmaking technology space.
- Staffing Levels Worsening: In 2022, there was a 12:1 ratio for IT Staffing within the philanthropic space. That has dropped to 14:1 in 2024. This demonstrates that teams need to do more with less staff and budget.
- DEI Still a Priority: Despite the current political landscape, 28% of responders stated that they were increasing their DEI efforts in the coming year.
